This is by far the best health book I have ever read and here’s why:
- Dr. B is a gastroenterologist and clinical investigator. The information presented in his book is based on science (evidence) and his years of research about how a healthy gut is the foundation to solving many other health issues.
- The solution he recommends is that (spoiler alert! just kidding it is in the title) our gut is fuelled by fibre to feed our microbiome (the genetic materials of the bacteria, yeast, fungi, etc. that live in our gut). It is not a restrictive solution. You’ll have to read the book to learn more about this.
- Reading the book was such a breeze. I am a slow reader and I read this book so quickly. Dr. B. uses a clear and approachable language to share information with a wide audience. What I appreciated the most was his sense of humour throughout the book. Reading should be fun even when it is about such a complex topic as our microbiome.
I have not yet tried out the 28-day plan and will update my review after. However, I did take his 7-week course to learn more about this and it was amazing in helping me address long standing digestive issues.
Well done! I recommend this book to anyone interested in nutrition (healthy or not). I bought extra books to give to my parents and friends. I might also just start reading it to my kids before bedtime!
